Summary
A carved oak and pine partners' desk, English, circa 1870, in the Gothic Revival style, the top inset with a gilt-tooled green leather skiver, above a pair of pedestals, each fitted with four graduated short drawers to one end and cupboard to the other, a drawer above each kneehole. All-over decorated with Gothic motifs, including lancet lights and tracery. The frieze carved with a meandering branch entwined with a diagonally-bound riband.
