Summary
A kingwood, mahogany and brass-mounted display cabinet, or vitrine, French/English, late 19th/early 20th century, in Louis XV style. Topped by a piece of red and white-veined marble. The frieze with Vitruvian scroll-cast brass mount above a glazed door enclosing three shelves (later fitted with electric bulbs) and between canted corners with leaf and berry-cast mounts to the top. Raised on four cabriole legs with brass paw-cast sabots and foliate mounts to the knees.
