Summary
A mahogany, parquetry, marble-topped and gilt-metal mounted games table, or table en bouillotte, French, last half of the 19th century, in Louis XVI style. Fitted with a white marble top within a beaded gilt metal edge, the friezes inlaid with trellis marquetry and with two drawers and two candle stands, applied with gilt metal beading and floral mounts above each leg. Raised on four tapering square-section legs carved with reeds and with husk mounts in the reeds, on gilt foliate sabots.
