Summary
A kingwood, amaranth, bois satine and sycamore marquetry-decorated secrétaire à abattant, French, in Louis XVI style, probably made in the last half of the 19th century. Topped by a slab of breche marble, above a frieze drawer, and a fall decorated with an inlaid trophy of musical instruments and sprays of flowers, enclosing drawers. A pair of cupboard doors below inlaid with similar trophies. All between canted front corners topped by mounts cast as a quiver and with a medallion, and with inlaid flutes. Raised on cabriole legs with acanthus and paw-cast feet. The sides with similar marquetry.
