Caption

This 50 gun frigate is one of the most important bone models in the collection. It is thought to have been made by French POW's at Millbay Prison between 1810 -1812. It is one of over 50 model ships in the collection.

Summary

Number 1. Considered to be the most important ship model in our collection, this is a model of a frigate, with English colours and fifty guns. It was reputed to have been made by French Prisoners at Millbay Prison, Plymouth, 1810-1812. The model is made from bone, and stands on a wooden base.
