Summary
Harp, made by E. Light, patent dital made 1819. The dital part is the mechanism whereby in pressing studs the strings are drawn down over frets and the vibrating length is shortened so as to raise the pitch by a semitone. Light patented this device in 1816. He made well over a 1000 and this instrument No. 296, is thus in the earlier part of his output. Repairs directed by D.McKenna, of Portscatho, Truro, Cornwall, in 1977 and carried out by G. Ralph. Also one tuning hammer and one piece of fretwork in bottom of map chest in office.
