Portrait miniature, watercolour on ivory, Amelia Onslow, Mrs Thomas Chamberlayne (1806/1807 – 1898) by Sir William Charles Ross, RA (London 1794 – London 1860). 1833. Three-quartr length portrait of a young woman, turned to the right, facing out, seated in a landscape, in an azure dress with white lace collar, black 'picture' hat topped by a big white bow and with light blue ribbons, resting her left arm on crimson drapery, and holding a pink rose in her right hand. 'Peaches and cream' complexion, with bright pink lips, pale blue eyes and goldenhair in ringlets. Maternal grandmother of Rosalie Chichester.
