Summary
A mug, part of a five-piece set. Full-colour transfer of the Royal Arms with the motto 'LONG VICTORIA LIVE' (Dates). Arching over the top is written 'LONGEST AND MOST GLORIOUS REIGN'. 'SIXTY and 'YEARS' are written on either side of the crown. Decorative motif on inner edge. Made to commemorate the Diamond Jubilee of Queen Victoria in 1897. Queen Victoria's (1819-1901) Diamond Jubilee in 1897 marked 60 years since her accession to the throne in 1837. It was the first time a diamond jubilee had been celebrated for any British monarch.
