Summary

A pair of hames for a working horse harness. Wrought iron and folded around a wood core. Hook attachments on both 'arms' near end. One arm has a link and hook at one end the other a chain. Corrosion has revelaed the wooden core. The hames fit around the collar of the horse, allowing the weight to be pulled from the shoulder.

Provenance

Part of the collection from Tyn y Coed farmhouse and farm, purchased by the National Trust in 1991.
