Summary
Watercolour on paper, The Watering Place by Myles Birket Foster (North Shields 1825 – Weybridge 1899). Birket Foster was born in North Shields, brought up in London as a Quaker. Apprenticed to Peter Landells, wood engraver, pupil of Bewick. Became Associate of the Old Watercolour Society in 1860 and a full member in 1862.
