Summary
The books throughout the collection range over three centuries in the Chippendale Library. There are more than 50 volumes in the breakfront bookcase, rangig in time from an Almanack of 1770 to the message broadcast by our present Queen on her Coronation Day. there are also copies of the Koran and Fita. On the drumtop table is a leather album of Carlisle family photographs and a visitors book, which carried signatures, in miniature of all the contemporary craftsmen who contributed to the collection. The maps on the walls are by Pieter Keer and dated 1599, the globe is eighteenth century and the carpets are designed from Persian originals.
