Summary
The William and Mary Parlour was specially commissioned for the collection from Horace Uphill of Wilton, who made both the room and its furniture. It contains a modern replica of a 17th century device for teaching babies to walk, known as a baby cage or going cart, note the tiny castors on the base. Other items include Dutch silver and in the alcoves Chinese figures. On the walls hang enamel plaques mounted on velvet, each depicting a pastoral idyll of lovers. The carpet was designed from a Savonnerie original.
