Summary
A satin birch chair, English, circa 1850. With balloon-back, moulded and boss-applied frame and pierced and interlaced splat. The seat serpentine and over-stuffed and raised to the front on a pair of moulded cabriole legs. Upholstered in pink floral damask to match the slightly different pair of satin birch chairs NT 960286.1 & 2 and another pair 960278 & 960279.
Provenance
Purchased by the National Trust by private treaty sale from Lord St Oswald in 2010.
