Summary
A bird's eye maple tester bed, English, circa 1850. The tester of this high quality bed with pierced shell and scroll-carved pediments and projecting rounded corners topped by vase-turned and carved finials. The end posts reeded and baluster-turned columns with foliate capitals flanking an arched footboard. Hung with russet silk with a tasseled fringe.

Purchased by the National Trust by private treaty sale from Lord St Oswald in 2010.
