Summary
Mechanism to turret clock in clock tower constructed from wrought iron and brass on a wood frame. It consists of a two train movement of 'double' or 'chair-frame' construction, hour striking with two setting dials of different sizes. The movement is worked by wheels and pendulum, and has a striking bell. Larger dial signed on back 'Philip Antrobus 1721'. Smaller newer dial stamped 'P Clare 1836'.

Signed covertly on back of larger of two setting dials: PHILIP ANTROBUS 1721 Stamped on smaller setting dial and motion-work gearing: P.Clare 1836 and P.Clare Manchester 1836 respectively
