Tan leather-effect letter case with press-stud fastening, stamped on the interior: THE / "PINEROYD" / LETTER CASES / 5. LITTLE PORTLAND ST. W. Accompanied by a handwritten note in the hand of Roger, 10th Earl of Stamford: Letter case and cigarette case [a] belonging / to Roland Charles Sansom, Royal / Flying Corps - killed in action on / the 16th May 1918.
