Summary
Shallow, square, white cardboard box with a brightly coloured picture of Father Christmas holding a sack of toys on the lid. A green, white and red label on the side advertises the original contents of the box as "'Unique' Crackers". Contains a cardboard and textile (similar to cotton wool) snowman with red crepe paper hat, paper eyes and mouth, red berry-like nose, red crepe paper scarf and holding a small gold foil cracker and foil holly sprig. The body of the snowman probably contains treats; the base is taped down with the original tape and any contents are undisturbed.
Provenance
Stamford collection; devised to the National Trust by Roger Grey, 10th Earl of Stamford (1896-1976).
