Summary
Rectangular cream envelope (unsealed) containing two iron nails. The envelope is embossed 'HOUGHTON & GUNN, 166, NEW BOND ST. / COURT STATIONERS BY APPOINTMENT / TO THEIR MAJESTIES THE KING & QUEEN'. Handwritten on the front of the envelope, in pencil and in the hand of Penelope, Lady Stamford, is 'Handmade [underlined] nails / of Queen Anne Time / from an old Bureau of / walnut'.
