Summary
Calling card for Alden G. Alley, Hotel Bellevue, Geneva; black print on white/cream card. One of a collection of calling/business cards contained in writing case, DUN/L/16. Handwritten in black ink on the front and reverse of the card is, 'Dear Lord Stamford : / Mr. Gilchrist tells / me you / are much / interested in the / Saar If convenient to / you, I would like to discuss it / 6 East 39 St. N.Y. / c/o League of Nations / Non-Partisan Association'. Dr. Alden G. Alley was a noted traveller, soldier and educator. He attended sessions of the League of Nations conference at Geneva and reported on the effect of events in Europe following WWI and their effect on the United States. He was of the opinion that international peace depended on friendly collaboration between the countries of the world.
