Summary
Letter dated July 1919 addressed to the Countess of Stamford from the Duke of Westminster, as President of the Cheshire Branch of the British Red Cross Society, 56 Mosley Street, Manchester, congratulating her on the recognition of her work for the cause and her name being inscribed upon the Roll of Honourable Service and thanking her for the same. The document accompanies a certificate (a) issued to the Countess of Stamford, 1st July 1919, from the British Red Cross Society expressing the same and is no longer contained within the original cardboard tube (c) (no ends) on which is a cream address label with red print and black handwritten ink text, addressed to 'The Countess of Stamford / Dunham Massey Hall / Altrincham', and on which is handwritten in red pencil crayon, 'P.S.' and 'Roll H... Service', but is now stored flat, separately. The tube bears a brown George V 1 1/2d stamp with a Manchester 1919 postmark.
