Summary
One of three of the original six tiny spare pencils (b). Each pencil is of polished wood with screw-thread ends and impressed in silver: 'Johann FABER BAVARIA...'. Contained in an off-white, rectangular cardboard box with red and blue/black print: 'NEW SERVICEABLE PENCIL / and 6 spare lead pencils', and sky-blue interior.
Provenance
Stamford collection; devised to the National Trust by Roger Grey, 10th Earl of Stamford (1896-1976).
