Summary
Copper printing plate engraved 'Booth Grey' and believed to belong to Booth Grey (1783-1850), featuring the Grey heraldic shield barry (shield with horizontal stripes) surmounted by the brisures label (the three-pointed emblem denoting the first son) and crescent (denoting the second son) and on a chapeau gules turned up ermine a wyvern wings elevated and addorsed (on a red hat with ermine and a wyvern with wings high and extended); one of three copper printing plates contained in a cream envelope on which is handwritten in pencil, 'Grey / Book Plate / plates', between scraps of chamois leather and with a small, rectangular, grease-proof paper bag with cellophane front.
