Summary

One of two tall, heavy, rectangular oak head posts, each with a slot to receive end/side rails though without bolt holes through which to bolt the rails to the posts. There are tack marks evident and an additional fillet for retaining the headboard.

Provenance

Stamford collection; devised to the National Trust by Roger Grey, 10th Earl of Stamford (1896-1976).
