Summary
Two rectangular trays to fit inside a trunk/trunks, each consisting of a wooden frame covered inside and out in a linen-weave textile, now pale brown though this may be as a result of acid in the wood causing widespread discolouration. The textile is worn and/or torn in places; (a) has a few marks; (b) is badly stained.
Provenance
Stamford collection; devised to the National Trust by Roger Grey, 10th Earl of Stamford (1896-1976).
