Summary
Calling card for 'Miss Mary Roberts Coles, 2010 de Lancey Place', Philadelphia, (1834-1920), daughter of Edward Coles (1786-1868), 2nd Governor of Illinois and an influential abolitionist figure (he was influential in opposing a move to make Illinois a slave state in its early years). Lord Grey, 9th Earl of Stamford, spent ten days in Philadelphia in 1889. Miss Roberts Coles never married. The card is contained within jigsaw box DUN/TOY/32.
