Summary
Colourful print by Byam Shaw of a seated child, seated women, and attendants in a candlelit room, before whom stands a soldier with shield, spear and arrows. Cut out from a publication and with, on the reverse, a colour print of an old man walking through the snow with a sack on his back accompanied by elves; contained in green cardboard box (DUN/TOY/263, a), lid missing, 'The Wolsley unshrinkable women's white wool bodices, short sleeves', with further paper scraps, a small plain pair of steel scissors, and cardboard strip with three hooks and seven eyes stitched in place.

Stamford collection; devised to the National Trust by Roger Grey, 10th Earl of Stamford (1896-1976).
