Portrait miniature, watercolour painting on ivory, George Harry Grey, 5th Earl of Stamford (1737-1819), by William Marshall Craig (Manchester c. 1765-c.1834). 1801. Oval. Head and shoulders portrait of a man, turned to the right, wearing a black coat, white waistcoat and and cravat. He has large grey eyes, grey hair, a ruddy complexion and rugged features. Plain drab background. Inscribed on the silk lining is 'W.M.Craig 1801'.
