Summary
Necklace case, elliptical in shape when viewed from above, with one long side flattened to take the two brass hinges. Covered in black leather with embossed surface and with gold and blind line borders, with domed lid, curved edges to base and with front press stud. Lined with off-white satin to the lid and pale blue vvelvet to the base. Thought to be late 19th century.
