Summary
Shallow, rectangular, red leather-covered presentation case containing a King's pattern gilt knife, fork and spoon, 1827. The case fastens by means of two hooks at the front and has a small, rectangular plaque on the top. The underside is inscribed in black ink: J.C.E. Grey, the gift of her / godfather, John Shorland Esq. / 1828. There is a second pencil inscription: I leave this to m.... J.G. Chart[eris?] / ...'
