Summary
Small white condiment set consisting of two pots and a small tray to the front, all integral (a). The pots have fluted bodies, ribbed slightly at the base, and the tray has a scalloped edge and gilt rim. The front of each pot is decorated with a transfer print of a rose with stem and leaves, hand-painted over to create a yellow rose and blue above. Crack to right hand pot. A handle has broken off the back and is now missing; no base mark. Scalloped lids to each pot, slightly ribbed, in a lilac hue fading to white in the centre. One lid (b) has a cut-out for a spoon and is missing a knob, the other lid (c) has a tall body (hidden in pot) and perforations.
Provenance
Stamford collection; devised to the National Trust by Roger Grey, 10th Earl of Stamford (1896-1976).
