Evening bodice cream cotton net, pin tucked, with applied machine 'Valenciennes' lace; cream silk chiffon with applied motives of flowers in silver and gilt in straight and stem stitch on a ground of chiffon samite of cream and silver; silver and gilt metal threads and cream floss silk embroidered in satin and running stitch in a design of a chequered ground scrolled; lining, cream silk satin twill weave, cream silk chiffon, cream cotton 'Valenciennes' bobbin lace edging twenty mm threaded with silk ribbon 3 mm, two underarm shields filled with herbs, fopurteen bodice stiffeners, twenty nine hooks, twenty nine metal eyes, eleven buttonholed eyes, cream petersham ribbon 26 mm; trimming, white cotton net edging pleated, three applique covered buttons 37 mm diam, ten cream buttons 9 mm diam and buttonholed loops, machine stitched and hand finished.
