Caption
Coronet worn by the Earls of Stamford. Last worn at the coronation of George VI by Roger Grey, 10th Earl of Stamford. The earl's coronet is identified by 8 silver balls on raised spikes separated by strawberry leaves. The countess' coronet is a smaller version of that of the earl.
Summary
Coronet, silver gilt, eight silver balls on points between gold strawberry leaves; cap of estate, crimson velvet turned up with ermine and a gold tassel centre; lining cream silk satin weave, gathered and quilted, cream petersham ribbon. For box see DUN/TC/132.2. Hallmark, H.B., lion passant, leopards head, date 1901, Makers initials not identified.
