Summary
One of twenty arch-topped niches set into the walls of The Poem. This one inscribed: "To the happy memory of John Francis McLaren" also carved into the bottom of the surround the words: "and in loving memory of Rose, 1919-2005"

Front: To the happy memory of John Francis McLaren Second son of Henry Duncan 2nd Baron Aberconway and of Christabel and husband of Rose fourth daugher of The 6th Marquess of Anglesey Born 19th June 1919 Died 23rd March 1953 Captain of the Oppidans at Eton. Squadron leader and pilot R.A.F.V.R. 1939-1945, called to the bar. In his work a trusted and admired colleague, his brilliant young life ended all too soon. His wife, his family and his friends will mourn him always. O mea cella, mihi habitatio dulcis, amata, semper in aeternum, o mea cella, vale Undique te cingit ramis resonantibus arbos, silvula florigeris semper onusta comis.
