Front: In Loving Memory of Francis Walter Stafford McLaren Member of Parliament for the Spalding Division of Lincolnshire, younger son of The Right Honourable Lord Aberconway of Bodnant, and Laura his wife Born 6th June 1886 On the outbreak of the European War he received a commission as Lieutenant in the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve and fought in the Gallipoli Campaign. He was killed at Montrose while flying in the Service of his Country on the 30th August 1917 "Here a boy, he dwelt through all the singing season And, ere the day of sorrow, departed as he came"
