Summary
Chapel silk damask pall. Fabric, purple/blue/grey silk warp, blue/grey weft of heavier count, warp faced satin ground, unbalanced plain weave motifs, double white stripes in selvage; design, sunburst enclosing the sacred monogram 'I H S', palm fronds above and below surrounded by roses, repeat 947 mm; trimming, the cross applied, silver metal thread braid 4 mm, and silver metal thread cord, fringe, blue cotton and purple wool double twisted cord 120 mm; structure, hand and machine sewn, one width missing (see Historic Ref below).
