Summary
Ivory-handled shoe cleaner, one of several ivory items belonging in tan crocodile skin travelling case (DUN/L/6) by Finnigans, Manchester, c. 1917, each contained within bespoke compartments. Shoe buffer/cleaner featuring long, rectangular, chamois-covered head with much staining from shoe polish, and shaped ivory handle with an earl's coronet stamped in black. Contained within a long, rectangular, rigid pouch strapped to the interior of the travelling case lid.
