Summary
Coloured photographic reproduction on paper, Hope, of George Frederick Watts, OM, RA, (London 1817 - Compton 1904). A blindfolded female sits on a globe holding a stringed musical instrument. A prime version of two original paintings of 1886 is in Tate Britain, given by the artist a year after he painted it. It was cited as President Obama's favourite painting in the run up to his 2008 presidential campaign and inspiration for the title of his second book.
