Summary
Sugar bowl featuring a gilded scalloped top, embossed pink border with hand-painted gold floral swag decoration from which hang hand-painted floral swags and with an embossed border around the foot over painted with gold detailing. Features the Dresden mark of Carl Thieme, Potschappel ('T' above a cross) and impressed '1895K', late 19th century. Very similar in style and appearance to the Dresden tea and coffee set with flower pattern and gold rim, and possibly purchased to complete the set which does not otherwise include a sugar bowl. The main set consists of fifty saucers (a), thirty-three teacups (b), nine coffee cups (c), four plates (d), one dish (e), five large tea plates (f) and two smaller, one cream jug, one milk jug and one coffee pot with lid.
