Summary
Silver oblong inkstand. John Crouch, London, 1811. Floral scrolls and shells at the corners and in the middle of the sides. Four claw and ball feet. Consisting of three silver-framed insets for two hob-nail cut-glass ink bottles with silver tops - one with a single hole, one with two holes, and one silver short columnar candleholder with a detached conical snuffer. Insets are attached via two nuts, four are missing. Hallmarked 'JC, lion, crowned leopard, Q, george'. No scratchmark weight.
Provenance
Part of the Hyde Parker collection. The hall and part of the collection were given to the National Trust in 1960 by Sir Richard Hyde Parker, 12th Bt (b.1937).
