Summary
French 2-train pendule movement with visible Brocot escapement and rack-striking, in four-glass case, with mercury pendulum. The backplate is stamped with the importer's mark: ‘PLATNAUER FRERES PARIS’ and a serial number ‘2354’. An engraved silver dedication plaque on the front of the case reads ‘Presented to W.R. Hole Esqre on his marriage by his tenantry as a token of their love and respect for him as a good Landlord & a kind neighbour & friend 1875’
