Summary
Drawing, Sir Robert John Wilmot-Horton, 3rd Bt of Osmaston, GCH (1784-1841) by Joseph Slater (1782- Brighton 1837). The only son of Sir Robert Wilmot, 2nd Bt of Osmaston, Derbyshire and his first wife Juliana Elizabeth Byron, the poet Byron was his cousin. In 1806 he married Anne Beatrix Horton (d.1871). He took the additional name of Horton in 1823. He was elected MP for Newcastle and was appointed Governor of Ceylon. From a set of portrait drawings of membes of the Grillion Club, London. No.34. In parcel gilt frame.
