Summary
Stone sculpture, The Saxon God 'Seatern', after John Michael Rysbrack (Antwerp 1694 – London 1770), 1999. Seatern was one of the Saxon Deities. A modern cast taken from the original statue by Rysbrack of circa 1727, now residing at Howlett's Zoo. Rysbrack based the appearance of the Saxon Deities on engravings in 'A Restitution of Decayed Intelligence in Antiquities' by Richard Verstegen (1605).
