Summary
Large Spanish cistern of about 1700, tin glazed earthenware featuring a coat of arms on the front and scrolling foliate ornament- vine leaves , grapes and figs.. Two strap handles with blue fish scale decoration. The lid appears to have a green lead glaze, with clear on the underside.
Provenance
This item forms part of the original Drewe family collection at Castle Drogo. It was transferred to the National Trust in 2008.
