Summary
A black and white photograph of the schooner 'Hansy' ashore under Pen Olver, The Lizard, 3rd November 1911. (Similar to 890432.1) Between the wreck and the cliffs can be seen the cargo of pit props. Contained in a brown photograph album containing sixty three black and white photographs, nearly all labelled, of Cornish wrecks 1890 - 1935.
Provenance
A gift of Miss R.M. Phillips, Penzance, who also gave other nautical memorabilia to the National Trust. The "Hansy", from Frederikstad, Norway, was carrying a cargo of pit props which was washed into Housel Cove after the schooner was wrecked under Pen Olver, The Lizard on the 3rd November 1911. Three members of the crew were saved by the Lizard lifeboat.
