Summary
A half-length studio photograph of the Hons. Violet (left) and Constance (right) Agar-Robartes, sitting together, both dressed in similar high-waisted and frilled dresses, their hair fringed and tied in pale bows on top of their heads. They are holding silk? flowers on their laps. c.1898 See also 889421. Shown as a rectangle and mounted. Contained in a large leather folding frame containing nine photographs of the Agar-Robartes family, the pale leather decorated with gilt flowers and gilt floral edging. The photographs have been sealed into the frame with screws.
Provenance
Acquired during transfer of Lanhydrock to the National Trust. The Hon. Gerald Agar-Robartes, later 7th Viscount Clifden, 1883-1966, gave Lanhydrock to the National Trust in 1953 and continued tolive there with his two sisters, Everilda and Violet, until his death in 1966. The Hon. Victor Agar-Robartesd, later 8th Viscount Clifden, 1887-1974, never lived at Lanhydrock after his marriage.
