Summary
A professional photograph of The Grand Hotel des Palmiers, Hyeres, showing a large five-storey building beside straight road with railings either side, a garden with palms in front of the hotel and a hill with buildings behind. A fruit and vegetable garden is in the foreground with small building beside the road. Contained in a brown leather photograph album with tooled pattern on spine and front and back covers containing thirty six pages with gold blocked edges and holding seventy six photographs. c.1900
Provenance
A gift from the Hon. Gerald Agar-Robartes, later 7th Viscount Clifden, 1883-1966, who gave Lanhydrock to the National Trust in 1953 and continued to live there with his sisters, Everilda and Violet, until his death in 1966. The family were great travellers and travelled throughout Europe.
