Summary
A professional photograph of a group of four Europeans, three men and a woman, being helped up a Pyramid, Egypt, by nine men in dark robes and white turbans, another in white robe and turban stands at the base. A doorway is visible on the left. Contained in a brown leather photograph album with tooled pattern on spine and front and back covers containing thirty six pages with gold blocked edges and holding seventy six photographs. c.1900
Provenance
A gift from the Hon. Gerald Agar-Robartes, later 7th Viscount Clifden, 1883-1966, who gave Lanhydrock to the National Trust in 1953 and continued to live there with his sisters, Everilda and Violet, until his death in 1966. The family were great travellers and travelled throughout Europe. Lord and Lady Clifden, and the Hons. Mary Vere and Everilda visited Egypt between 8th - 15th October 1906.
