Summary
A studio photograph of three fair haired young boys, triplets?, dressed in identical suits with dark jackets with three rows of buttons and cut away fronts, knee-length shorts and shirts with stiff white collars and dark bow ties. The boys on the left and right carry straw hats whilst the one in the middle who is sitting on a concrete plinth has his on the floor. Studio backdrop visible behind. Contained in a tan coloured leather photograph album, elaborately tooled in black with brass clasp and containing twenty five gilt edged pages with eighty photographs, some of the Dickinson family. c.1870
Provenance
A gift from the Hon. Gerald Agar Robartes, 7th Viscount Clifden, 1883-1966, who gave Lanhydrock to the National Trust in 1953 and continued to live there with his sisters, Everilda and Violet, until his death in 1966. The album is thought to have belonged to Mary Dickinson, later Viscountess Clifden, containing family photographs.
