Summary
Studio photograph of a young woman standing sideways in front of a large mirror, so her reflection is visible. Her hands are resting on a wrought iron book stand, a book open in front of her. She wears a dark dress with full skirt and capped long sleeves and a bead necklace with drop earrings. Contained in a tan coloured leather photograph album, elaborately tooled in black with brass clasp and containing twenty five gilt edged pages with eighty photographs, some of the Dickinson family. c.1870
Provenance
A gift from the Hon. Gerald Agar Robartes, 7th Viscount Clifden, 1883-1966, who gave Lanhydrock to the National Trust in 1953 and continued to live there with his sisters, Everilda and Violet, until his death in 1966. The album is thought to have belonged to Mary Dickinson, later Viscountess Clifden, containing family photographs.
