Summary
A studio portrait of a young sixteen month old child, William Francis Dickinson, son of William Dickinson and his wife Helen Isabella, and nephew of Mary Dickinson, later Viscountess Clifden. He is sitting, barefoot, on cushions on upholstered chair and wearing dress with short sleeves with bows at shoulders and a sash. Plain background. Contained in a faded black leather bound album, embossed in diamond pattern with gold tooling and with brass clasp.
Provenance
A gift from the Hon. Gerald Agar Robartes, 7th Viscount Clifden, 1883-1966, who gave Lanhydrock to the National Trust in 1953 and continued to live there with his sisters, Everilda and Violet, until his death in 1966. The album is thought to have belonged to Mary Dickinson, later Viscountess Clifden, containing family photographs.
